Princess Household Appliances B.V., a Dutch firm specialising in small domestic appliances, was established by its former owner Aad Ouborg in 1994. Thanks to its highly distinctive approach "Business is Entertainment‟, the company has grown explosively. Princess is the world's largest provider of small chrome domestic appliances.
The European directive “Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment” (WEEE) relates to scrap electrical and electronic equipment and is part of a wider series of EU measures to protect the environment. Naturally, Princess fully supports this since the environment needs to be protected.
The directive entails a compulsory collection and recycling system for electrical and electronic equipment. The final users of the equipment take their discarded electrical and electronic goods to a recognised collection point. Recycling companies then remove any hazardous materials from the equipment and process the equipment according to set guidelines. The aim is to reduce the quantity of waste.
In all the countries of the European Union Princess will be participating in the collection system via the local distributor. Discarded items may be left at the store or at the designated collection point, where they will be processed in a responsible manner.
Thanks to the current freezing cold temperatures, summer may seem very far away.
