Princess Household Appliances B.V., a Dutch firm specialising in small domestic appliances, was established by its former owner Aad Ouborg in 1994. Thanks to its highly distinctive approach “Business is Entertainment‟, the company has grown explosively. Princess is the world’s largest provider of small chrome domestic appliances. Almost 100 employees and a group of worldwide distributors in over 75 countries are working on expanding the success of Princess.
In 1998, Princess took over Nova, the Belgian domestic appliance brand. NOVA has been around for more than 60 years and it is Belgium’s absolute number one.
Under the motto: “Business is Entertainment”, Princess has formed affiliations with numerous well-known Dutch and Flemish people. Ambassadors Tonny Eyk, “Master Chef of the Century” Cas Spijkers and Felice, who passed away in 2009, accompanied Princess all over the world to attend many events and trade fairs.
On the 1st of October 2010, Princess Household Appliances B.V. became a wholly owned subsidiary of WMF AG based in Geislingen an der Steige in Germany. WMF was founded in 1853 and has developed strongly in recent decades, particularly as a provider of such products as cutlery, cookware, tableware, cutting tools and coffee machines. Princess forms an essential part of WMF’s strategy as regards small domestic appliances. The aim of the purchase is to strengthen the global position of both brands in a very wide and competitive market. The purchase of the entire parcel of shares of the Princess Holding B.V. is fully in line with continuing the WMF strategy was regards small domestic appliances. Both parties are convinced that the full integration of Princess into the WMF group will enable the goal to be reached more quickly and smoothly.
The new CEO of Princess, Wilan van den Berg, started on 1 February 2011. This entrepreneur has numerous years of experience in both the Netherlands and abroad. His goal is to quickly bring new and innovative products onto the market and by doing so carry on Princess’ success.
