General Questions

  1. When I first used the appliance, it produced a strange smell. Is it damaged/broken?
    Probably not. In many cases new appliances sometimes produce an odour when they are first used. This is normal and it stops after you have used the appliance several times. If it does not stop, clean the appliance with a damp cloth after it has cooled. When you heat it up the next time, the smell should have disappeared. If this is not the case, please contact Princess. We will gladly be of assistance.
     
  2. What does the diffuser do?
    The volume diffuser is designed to gently dry both straight and wavy or curly hair. With gentle air jet from the volume diffuser you can give your hairstyle more volume and elasticity. It works as follows: Click the diffuser to the appliance. To remove the volume diffuser, pull it from the appliance. Insert the pins in your hair so that they touch your scalp to give your hair more volume from the roots. Then make circular movements with the appliance to evenly distribute the warm air through your hair.
     
  3. What can I use the ‘Cool Shot’ (cold air button) for?
    The 'Cool Shot' (cold air button) can be used to fix your hair towards the end of drying and styling. The 'Cool Shot' closes the hair cuticles in order for the hairstyle to last longer.
     
  4. How does ionic technology work? 
    Ions are a natural part of our environment. By friction, for example by brushing, the hair becomes positively charged, dull, lifeless and static. The ionic technology solves this: a stream of negative softening ions wraps around each hair. Hairs become supple again and take on a smooth satin finish.
     
  5. Do the ions lower the temperature of the hair dryer? 
    No.
     
  6. Is ionic technology dangerous for my health or my hair? What are the physical effects of ions? Are they healthy? 
    The ions generated by our appliance are harmless. This is confirmed by toxicological tests, carried out by external experts.
     
  7. Do the ions have a positive effect on my scalp? Does hydration of the scalp reduce dandruff? 
    There is not yet any evidence or information for this.
     
  8. Does the effect of ions depend on the type of hair (curly or straight)? 
    It makes no difference if the ions are applied to straight or curly hair, they have the same effect. In contrast, the sheen effect will work better on straight hair, because it reflects light better.
     
  9. Do the ions enhance the condition of your hair in the long term? 
    No, the ionic effect lasts only until your hair gets back into contact with positive ions. This is done by firmly brushing your hair or some other kind of friction in a positively charged environment.
     
  10. How long does the effect of ions last? 
    This depends on the amount of positively charged ions in the environment, what you do with your hair after ionization (brushing or other friction), what products you use (shampoo, conditioner, styling products, ...) and the condition of your hair at the time.
     
  11. Do ions have a different effect when combined with certain styling products? 
    Special styling products can also provide more positive ions. All studies and tests took place on hair in its natural state, unaffected by external styling products.
