English fruit cake

Ingredients:

• 230g (½ lb) wheat flour
• 2 tsp baking soda or bicarbonate of soda
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 180g (6⅓ oz) margarine
• 1g (6⅓ oz) brown sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1 tsp salt
• 2 tbsp milk
• 150g (5¼ oz) mixed dried fruit such as raisins, apricots, figs, apple or ready-made tropical mix. Grated zest of 1 lemon or orange (thoroughly wash fruit first)

Preparation:

Place everything in the pastry mould in one go.
Set the machine on ‘Basic’ and start the programme.
