Chocolate fondue

Ingredients:

• 200g (7oz) pure chocolate
• 25g (⅞ oz) butter
• 25g (⅞ oz) sugar
• 400g (14⅛ oz) water (or cream).

Trimmings to prick with a fork: pitted cherries, strawberries, pieces of banana, pineapple, pear, peach, cubes of cake, macaroons and shortbread biscuits.

Preparation:

Take a large pan and add water, butter and sugar to it. Bring to the boil. Remove the pan from the heat and add the small pieces of chocolate. Stir well until everything is dissolved and smooth. Switch on the fondue pan at the lowest setting. Pour the chocolate sauce in it.
